Activate Now Dialog

My account is setup to auto renew each year and I keep getting this wonderful dialog box even though I have downloaded the annual update.  How do I make this go away?

It is such a nuisance.

Thank you! :)

Welcome,

A part of your renewal is an email which confirms that you have renewed, that your credit card has been charged  AND also contains the key to install so that your copy of the software knows that it has been renewed :smileywink:

Stay well and surf safe

PS: If you don't see the message in your in box, check the spam/junk folder. The reply is computer geneerated and may get caught in your protection web.

Re: Activate Now Dialog

Ok, whew, glad I found the confirmation message and had not deleted it!:smileyhappy:

Weird, seems that this box did not come up until quite a bit after my upgrade, but maybe i'm weirding out.:smileytongue:

Another weird thing is that this dialog box pops up after I have been logged on to my computer for awhile, so I never know when it is going to pop up.  What do I need to do to make it pop-up so that I can complete the info and move on?

I appreciate your help.

Thanks, agaiun! :)

Re: Activate Now Dialog

Hi,

There should be the word 'renew' near the bottom center of the main UI.

Click on that and you should be where you want to be.

Re: Activate Now Dialog

Still not working.  In my email confirmation it gives me the last 4 digits of my credit card and gives me the serial number of the product as well.  When I copy and paste the serial number into the activiation code it does not like that.  So there must be an activation code that I missed somewhere?  My account is setup to auto renew, so thinking this is why I am not getting an actiation code to input into this dialog box.  Which I am getting more convinced that this dialog box is a programming errror and should be only for those who don't auto renew?  I also went to Nortons site to check to see if my product is up to date and it says that yes I am up to date, but still get the dialog.  Anyhew...

I could go on speculating, but will wait to see your response.

Apprecitae all of your help!

Re: Activate Now Dialog

I also went to my account online with norton, found the product key and tried inputting this as the activation code, then clicking on activate now.  Still does not work.  I would click on purchase in the dialog box, but don't want to get charged twice for the same product.

Thanks, again.

Re: Activate Now Dialog SUCCESS!

Well, I finally figured it out the issue.  I noticed on my start menu that there was an icon to start Norton Utilities 15 as well as another icon to start my current version.  I am running version 19.7.1.5, so I clicked the version 15 icon, and wallah, the invading dialog opened up.  So, I right clicked on the icon and looked at properties, then clicked on file location and deleted the file off of my system. For some unknown reason, it was not removed by any of the subsequent upgrades (after version 15).  So, maybe there is a problem with the auto upgrades not removing no longer needed components that have been upgraded?  Makes me wonder what other components of other versions might be floating in space on my hard drive.

Problem solved, now just concerned about the remnants of old versions hiding out on my hard drive.  Please let me know if there are (the best) steps I could take to ensure that my installation is clean from older versions.

Thank you,

Mark
