Annoying kaspersky prompt!

I am getting a continuous action centre warning in Win7 64 reminding me to renew KIS2012!

I had the softwre installed previously but removed it because it was a resource hog.

I now run NIS2012 with good results except for this action centre warning!

Have used CC cleaner and removed all registry entries pertaining to KIS,and also

manually removed the KIS  folders.

I suspect that KIS has installed some hidden spyware on my system!

Please advise.

Hi Dimitri,

When you uninstalled KIS did you run the Kaspersky Removal Tool?

Dave.

Thanks for replying Dave!

Yes I did, and as an added measure I ran it in safe mode and rebooted twice.

I get this warning popup nearly every hour!!

I ran mbam, hitman pro, tdss killer, and all are clear.

However there is definitely KIS lurking somewhere on my system causing this issue!!

OK. Here is something I have found from Google that might help.  -  http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=125643

Let us know if the third post helps.

Thanks,  Dave.

Re: Annoying kaspersky prompt!

Thanx Dave., but this didnt help.

The problem is in win action centre where you get prompted for maintenance issues.I

click on the flag, and even though NIS is installed, it tells me that I am not protected because KIS has expired.

This is ridiculous.

Re: Annoying kaspersky prompt!

This is not a Kaspersky issue, but a Microsoft issue. You probably need to reset the Repository. Instructions in the second post in this thread:
