Hi
I have recently upgraded to NIS 2010 but am now having problems with the AntiSpam folder. Some (but not all) addresses that I reclassify as SPAM and ask to be moved to the blocked sender list are not being added to it so keep reappearing in my inbox on OE. Sometimes emails from addresses that are on my blocked sender list are also still apearing in my inbox and not automatically being moved to my blocked sender list. In fact when I look at my blocked sender list it is very short compared to the amount of spam emails I am receiving and asking to be added to the list. I am sending all SPAM to Symantec to be reclassified.
Can anyone help - all seemed to be fine when I used NIS 2009.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Sam667n
Some (but not all) addresses that i reclassify as SPAM and asked to be moved to the Blocked Sender List are not being added : Sam
If the Emails do not have a proper "from:" header with the Email address, it will not be added to the Blocked List : This could be the most likely reason for your problem
If you add the Address of the Email present in the Inbox to the Blocked List : Email will not be moved automatically to the Junk or Norton AntiSpam folder. The next time when you receive an Email from the same Blocked sender , it will be sent to Junk or Norton AntiSpam folder
But if you reclassify the Email as Spam : it will be moved to Junk or Norton AntiSpam folder immediately after the reclassification
Thanks

Hi
If the Email address exists in the Blocked list & you receive an Email from that sender : it will be sent to the Norton AntiSpam folder
If the Email address doesn't exist in the Blocked List & you receive an Email from that Sender : It will be sent to Inbox/NAS folder.
When you just add the address to the Blocked List : it will not be moved to NAS folder
The next time when you receive Email from the same sender : it will be sent to NAS folder
Can you provide these details for further analysis :
Right Click on the Spam Email in Outlook Express (whose Email address you have added to the Blocked List). Click Properties. Open the Details tab (the 2nd tab)
Do you find a X Brightmail-Tracker there? (At the End)
If so can you please reply back the Brightmail Tracker code ?
Thanks

Hello
This tracker code shows that the Sender's Email address is not present in the Blocked List at the time when you received your Email
Add this Sender's Email id to the Blocked List, So the next time when you receive an Email from the same Sender it will land up in the Spam Folder
It will have a different tracker.
Let us know if this works for you
Thanks

The same applies for your other Emails as well listed above
Try the same steps for the other addresses too and let us know if it works as expected in the future
Thanks
