Autofill problems after upgrading to NIS2012 from NIS2011

Since upgrading to NIS 2012 from NIS2011 I am having serious issues with the autofill part of this product.

With NIS 2011 no such issues occured and every site that I had a login card filled automatically.

Now with NIS2012, I have to manually login to Identity Safe even though I have enabled automatic login, and I have to manually login to 90% of my favourite sites.  And I don't just mean going to logins and clicking the link to the site I require (as this doesn't work), I have to to type in my user names then copy the passwords and paste them in.

Whats worse is that I can't even go back to NIS2011

Re: Autofill problems after upgrading to NIS2012 from NIS2011

Just ran into a similar problem on the Comcast Forum (with N 360's cousin NSS).  The OP's autofillis working in IE, but not in FF, so we are working on that.  Got it narrowed down to the NTB missing in FF.

So I guess the question to ask here is which browser and version are you using?

Also have you run Liveupdate until it returns "no more updates available"?  Latest version should reflect 19.2.0.10 which can be found via Support > About.

Hi joelpeyton:

Welcome to the Norton community.

There are several known issues with Identity Safe in NIS 2012 ( see Known Issues With NIS 19.1 here) .  A few bugs were fixed in the v. 19.2.0.10 update of 08-Nov-2011 (see Issues Fixed in Version 19.2 here) and Symantec employee prasanna_a has reported that there is a LiveUpdate WAX patch coming in the near future that should resolve some outstanding Identity Safe issues (see here in Itolman's thread Won't Autofill at Checkout - Shopping).

If you don't have NIS v. 19.2.0.10 (Support | About) then try re-booting your PC and running LiveUpdates until no more updates are available for download as yank suggested.  It may take more than one re-boot to get your NIS 2012 fully patched.

If you want to roll back to NIS 2011 there are instructions posted here that should work.  As long as you have a valid subscription your product activation key should work with any version of NIS you choose to run.

Hi yank:

My post here in the Firefox forum might help you with your Norton Toolbar troubleshooting.  I've had this happen to me and it's often difficult to figure out if the problem resides with your Norton extensions or with your Firefox user profile.  The originator of that thread, navman9, is also using the Comcast Norton Security Suite version of Norton 360.

Hello joelpeyton and welcome to the Community.  What browser are you using?  There was a problem with the new Firefox 8 and NIS 2012 but I think they solved that problem.  I think you had to run the manual updater until you received all the new updates and then go into Firefox 8 Tools - Add ons and make sure the Norton and Symantec extensions were selected.  If you are using IE, you might want to make sure the Norton Toolbar is selected under tools.  If you are using IE 64 bit, good luck, I think they are still having problem with that.

Windows 7 Home SP1 - IE 9.0.8112.16421 - NIS 2012 19.9.1.14 - Ghost Ver 15.0.1.36526 - Dell Optiplex GX280 PC.
