I got a box popping up telling me the latest version of NIS has been downloaded (I'm using the 2011 version still). Where is the downloaded latest version stored that Nortyon auto-downloads, and can one disable this feature?

I don't know where the files are stored so hang on for that.
If 2011 and 2012 are configured in the same way: click on Settings / Computer / Updates and disable Automatic Download Of New Version .
You probably know that the upgrade is not actually done unless you ask it to but that it downloads the files during idle time. It is a newish feature which I disabled immediately.

Thanks Hugh,
I just disabled the feature in NIS 2012. I really want to see how the full release of NIS 2013 does before upgrading. Want all those bugs out as much as possible

Thanks, Hugh. In 2011, It's settings, miscellaneous settings, and disable automatic download of new version.
