Browsers don't open certain web pages!

[ Edited ]

Hi All,

This is my first post. I have a problem concernign opening webpages like:

gigapedia.org

roozonline.com

I searched internet and I tried all suggestions and solution. Without Norton Internet Security 2010 (On Windows 7 64), I have no problem. But with This Suite, I can not open some web page. Lan Setting, Proxy setting, (CMD) netsh winsock reset catalog, (CMD) netsh int ip reset reset.log did not change anything. Norton said these site are SAFE but why I can not open'em.

I am sure, and sure again, that it is a problem with my Norton Security Suite. With Kaspersky I have no problem. My freinds have no problem like mine with Kaspersky.

Should I use Kaspersky? What can I do to solve my problem, having my Dear Norton on My System.

I have no virus, spyware etc. My system is clean.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my english. Waiting for a solution please.

P.S. Forget about these issues: Lan setting, Router setting, Virus issues, Driver issues. These are not the probem.

Re: Browsers don't open certain web pages!

Hello aryames

Welcome to the Norton Users Discussion Forum

Can you please tell us the version number of NIS 2010 you have installed? What browser are you using when you see this problem? Have you tried disabling Smart Screen and see if this has effect please? What security program did you have before NIS 2010? How was this other security program removed?

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

In the internet, I saw many people that have this problem, but no answer yet from Norton to solve this problem.
I like Norton, after Kaspersky and ESET, it is my choice to take Norton. But,This problem disapointed me!

On thing to mention: I tried to open these sites, i.e.: www.roozonline.com by a proxy site: for example : http://dandysurf.co.cc/
It WORKS!!! Why? Whats happen? I can open it with proxey.

By uninstalling Norton, I Can access to any site, but with Norton, No.

Hello aryames

If you use a proxy, have you configured your Norton product for the proxy?

No, I don't use proxy. I used a proxy site to open my site that I can not open in the normal manner.

Re: Browsers don't open certain web pages!

Have you made any changes to the default setting of NIS?

.

All the URL's you have referenced I can get to and I have the default settings in place.

.

Could you have perhaps blocked any o f the URL's via firewall rules you customized?

Re: Browsers don't open certain web pages!

Yes, many times.

I dont even know where can I block a URL in firewall rules. I didnt customize it.

Anyway, I uninstall Norton (by the removal tool), Restart, same problem. (CMD) netsh winsock reset catalog, (CMD) netsh int ip reset reset.log again. Works! but after a while It wont open! Norton is not installed yet! I hate these **bleep** thing!

Anyway, Thanks for attention.
