I will look forward to the report.
Based on my results I can infer the extension has no effect on the transfer speed. All LAN traffic is monitored although the NAS was added to the "Trusted" device list in NIS2010.
Your results are correct, it won't make any difference at all as it isn't about the file that is being transferred, as all network traffic is inspected.

Ameya,
What's the status on this issue? Were you guys able to reproduce it locally? Thanks for the update.

I have just 22 days of subscription remaining. It will NOT be renewed unless Norton fix this issue!
One customer and 5 computers will use something else than this slooow network performer...

To a large extent this will get addressed in Norton 2011. But we are trying to improve performance of the IPS engine routinly. I will post here whenever I have something solid to share.

I'm also suffering from this problem with only 18 days of subscription remaining. What is the recommended workaround until a proper fix is available? I've seen mention of disabling Intrusion Prevention, or disabling the dll using sc.exe, but nothing definitive.
Also is there a bug tracking number we can reference when calling for support?
