Re: Bug in Norton 2011's Insight

I tested it without any problems like you mentioned. Every thing works great. May be, you need to do a clean install of your product in order to check for possible conflicts in the installation.

Windows 7 Pro x86: NIS 11. Hitman Pro(Second Opinion). SAS(on-demand).
Windows XP Pro x86 SP3: Avast 5.

In fact, 3GUSER is right. I didn't experience any problems in the first try, but later on, I did experience the same.

@3GUSER:

I didn't think of you as an illiterate user. I just gave you a benign suggestion. Sometimes, it can happen. There's no rocket science involved in it. After all, you may never know with windows operating system.

Well done for your research!

Hi !

I would like to report something else which may also be connected to this problem.

If I download an archive full of infected files or other malware (really crowded archive with 300+ threats) , then I attempt to extract it , Norton starts to pick-up the threats . I see the message "Auto-Protect is processing threats" and then same happens : CPU goes to 50% , Norton doesn't show any further messages ... the same story.

An example of such archive can be downloaded from megaupload.com/?d=SR5BGDDC

Note it is full of threats , do not use it unless you know what you are doing

Hi ThreeGuser,

I downloaded and unpacked the archive without any problems. Windows XP SP2, NIS2011.Yes, CPU was about 50% but NIS worked perfectly.
