I've recently discovered about 14GB of files in \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\SAV Corporate Edition\7.5 with 8 digit hex names like 000000571. They appear to be in groups of 10-20 files and their datestamps are on days the scans run which is once a week.
Can I just blow them all away? Keep the last n-weeks worth of scans? Is there some setting I can change to cause them to be automatically removed?

Hi markseger -
Please do not delete anything for the moment.
A specialist with the Corporate products should be better able to help you. Hang tight.
Thanks.

Please try this link to the corporate versions

I'm not sure what that last reply meant - there was nothing on that page about 'corporate edition' or anything in the forums either. I'd think this is a basic symantec thing - but maybe not. Does anyone else have large files in that directory potentially wasting their space too?

Sorry Markseger:
We just deal here with the consumer end, Norton Internet Security and Norton Antivirus. The corporate edition is considerably different.
You have a tab for forums on that page and a long list of choices. Here is the link to the help desk.

Mark,
The Highlighted text above is telling us that this is a Corporate Version of Norton Antivirus possibly under the name of Client Security or Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition. The scan results will be removed on their own once you are corrected to the administrator server for the Corporate Antivirus solution. If you are running this as a stand alone product, deleting these files will corrupt the data flow for SAVCE and is not recommended. If you are not part of a current Domain or Company network (and thus, have no SAVCE Administrator) then you would be better off with one of the consumer products found here Norton Home Products .

I'm not sure what the following means:
"..once you are corrected to the administrator server for the Corporate Antivirus solution"
I'm running this inside our corporate environmnet but am not 'connected' to any other servers. I have files dating back for over a year and am down to 0 disk space. I do get automatic definition updates and in fact my latest definitions file isi 5 days old so I'm obviously connected to something. What do I do?

That should be "connected" not 'corrected' but the information on this is still valid. Sorry about that error.
The Corporate Version needs a Corporate Version administrator (this is part of the complete Corporate Version package) console connection to tell the client side what to do (report files are uploaded there and certain internal files are updated along with the correct housekeeping of the client software installation) .
You can manually delete the files but you run the risk of crashing the program. Since you are in a corporate environment, you should contact your system Administrator and ask them have the files automatically handled through the user profile settings for the SAVCE client on your machine. Actually, I'm a little surprised that they did not contact you earlier as a low free disk space on your hard drive should have given them an error / warning flag on their system monitoring.
