Hi,
you can get the latest installer two ways.
One is downloading it from www.norton.com/nis10, but this will always have the same virus definition package, it will not change from the day the setup package was built.
The other one is downloading the installer from the Norton Update Center (www.norton.com/nuc). With this you download the product through a Download Manager, which downloads the latest virus definitions as well. I would recommend this one.
Here's the link for the NIS2010 download in NUC: click here.

The link provided by PapauZ(Guru) is for latest 17.6 version: www.norton.com/nis10
I think, that is enough for downloading and installing the latest version.

Just of note, and maybe it is the way in which Norton chooses to use the (English) language, but the (first) link by Papa above, leads to a filename path which has 'UPGRADE' in the file name. (As for a person who is currently using NIS 9, and wishes now to update to NIS 10). I am not saying that is not a correct link (keep in mind, my OP asked for specifically not an upgrade version) but it just can be confusing if the same binary is used for both a fresh install (on a machine with no Symantec products) as well as on a machine with a previous version of NIS already installed on it.
This is only a ""filename-glitch"", it contains the full installer package.
There's no direct updater package for version upgrades.

We only jusst heard ourselves that they had the latest versions for NIS NAV and N360 posted on the short URLs ....
Note that if you do use the N360 one it uses the version ID format of NIS & NAV ..... 17 .... and not 4 ... so don't be worried!
