symantec are aware of this problem and are working on a Fix.
I would suggest waiting for a few hours and then run Norton LiveUpdate, Manually. Have you done this and, if so, did it install?

This might be a good place to point this out, again.
Most people's computers are probably in fine shape and upgrade with no problems.
Some people's computers are a crash-waiting-to-happen. They have been tinkered with, modified up the wazoo. Then something standard comes along and is installed and just bumps right into one of those modifications. Boom!
Not every failure of Norton to install correctly is Norton's fault.

I don't understand this, wath is tinkered with, and modified up the wazoo? Ik had NIS2008 and there were no problems. I installed NIS2009 and there were problems. I don't install other programs. What is the matter?
