Hello John,
In order to verify ownership using the automated process you will have to make two changes to the meta tag you entered.
• The tag currently looks like this:
<meta name="description" content="l5z1tw3nly0....
Please change the meta name to norton-safeweb-site-verification and in your source code it should look like this:
<meta name="norton-safeweb-site-verification" content="l5z1tw3nly0....
• There is a space at the end of your tag: vzamwu" />
Please remove the space so that it looks like this:
vzamwu"/>
Once completed and published, try to verify ownership again and let me know how you do.

I am using a wordpress plugin called "All in one SEO pack" and am limited on the information I can change. I made changes to the "content" but cannot alter "description" under "meta name". Any suggestions?

I will notify the Safe Web team and see if they can manually verify the code you have placed in the description tag.
Leave everything as it is for now.
Allow them a day or two to respond back to you in this thread.
