Hello,

I need to check the running status (active/inactive ... definitions up-to-date) of Norton Antivirus, from my web application using JavaScript.
Is there an existing control / component that I can query for this status ?

I need to do this in real-time, every time a user tries to login to ensure the security of the web application (its a regulatory requirement).

Would appreciate any pointers.

I'm not sure that anyone except a Symantec Employee can answer this for you (but hopefully someone will come along and prove me wrong). You will need to be a bit patient I think.

Its not a wrong place to post this request. However, it involves sharing information that is classified and confidential to Symantec and its employees.

The participation guidelines state that "It is unacceptable to post any material (i) that would infringe on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party"

I'm afraid we'll not be able to take this up in the forum here.

I was under the impression that such an interface would be part of a Developer API. I did not realise it was classified and confidential.
