Hi All,
One of my friends is using Norton 2008 and wants to know if it is compatible with Outlook 2000.
This is an old computer and that guy does not have enough money to buy the new office. He uses XP
Thanks.

It should be OK even if the plugins are not integrated into old Outlook 2000. I'd recommend that your friend get newer a Norton product that is newer than 2008. 2009 and newer are much friendlier on old computers with limited resources. There are free trials for 2011 and N360 v5 to try.

Is it Norton Internet Securities, Norton AntiVirus or ..... ?
Whichever it is you can, I thought, upgrade to 2011 for free as long as the subscription has been renewed and is uptodate.

Hi PJ,
Thanks for your reply. But the thing is that she does not get the Antispam option in Outlook 2000 when using the 2011 version.

I see the system requirements support article for the 2009 version. 2009 is compatible with Outlook 2000. So I think 2008 also is.

HI derbomber_redux,
Unfortunately NIS 2009 is the last version which supports Outlook 2000.
Also Office 2000 / Outlook 2000 is no longer supported by Microsoft. I understand the financial limitations but Outlook 2000 is way out of date and at some point it will have to be updated or dropped. Windows Mail is a possible choice and is free.
Also, what SP does your friend have on XP? If not SP 3, this also should be taken care of.
You can get the English version of NIS 2009 here.
Please do let your friend know that by limiting Norton to a version which supports Outlook 2000 he is also not getting the absolute best protection like he would get with NIS 2011.
Please let us know how it goes.
Best wishes.
Allen
