Computer Monitoring

I have 3 computers on my home network (2 XP Pro & 1 Win 7 64 bit) and I have NIS2011 installed on all 3. When I look at the network security map on the Win 7 it always shows 1 of my XP Pro machines (connected by wifi to the network).  The other XP Pro machine will show on the map if I have it connected by wifi and then it shows twice but if I connect it by ethernet it does not show at all.

Also, the "computer Monitoring" is shown as "off" and the "setup" is greyed out.

Please help me to turn on monitoring and get the network map to be correct.  The network map on the XP Pro machines are also incorrect.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Computer Monitoring

Hello neil154,

As a first step, I would try this:

  1. Disable Remote Monitoring on any machines that have it enabled.
  2. Close the Network Security Map.
  3. Open the main Norton interface and go to Network Settings > Network Security Map and click Purge +
  4. Repeat this on each machine.
  5. Open the Network Security Map on each machine and see if they repopulate correctly.

Norton 360 • Norton Internet Security • Norton Zone | XP SP3 • Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64
• PLEASE, BACKUP or EXPORT your Identity Safe Data on a regular basis •

Re: Computer Monitoring

How is the Win7 machine connected to the network?  Wired or wireless?  Do you have any security on the wireless network?  WPA or ???
