Curious items

NIS 2011 v18.6.0.29
Vista Home Premium 32biVista SP2

OK installed NIS2011 tonight and ran Live Update several times
Out of curiosity, I would view what the updates were once they were installed
Ran across 2 items I am curious about
Update for Consumer Licensing
Update for technologies Licensing

NOT concerned that these are malicious, as they came from Live Update
But just curious as to what they are and what they do

Hi Calls,

Please see the following post.

http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Consumer-Licensing-Technologies/m-p/3...

Not sure what the technology licensing update would be but again probably something related in a general way to the Consumer licensing one.

Nothing to be concerned about for sure.

Since you just now upgraded to 2011 you are just now seeing this while everyone else saw it 7 months ago! :smileywink:

Best wishes.

Allen

Hi Calls,

One of the disadvantages of waiting so long to upgrade to last year's version is that most of the things in the program that are new to you have already been discussed long ago.  You may want to use the forum search feature, since almost everything there is to be said about NIS 2011 can already be found there, and fewer and fewer of us still have a copy of NIS 2011 installed to refer back to.  The licensing technologies updates were discussed a couple of times, but this was Tim's authorative post on the subject:

Of course, for anything you cannot find, we'll do our best to answer.
