Customer Problems

As I sit here with a new computer and a NIS disc in hand to install, the customer problems with security software makes me pause.  I saw what I consider low user ratings for NIS and went looking for a product with higher customer satisfaction.  The problem is I couldn't find any!  None of them have very high user ratings.  Can someone give me some insight into why these products generate such low customer satisfaction rates?  Thank you for time and experience.

Re: Customer Problems

Hello bodark

What you are finding is that these 2011 security products have just recently come out.  The best place to find such ratings is in the product forums such as this one. Other peoples problems or lack of problems doesn't really matter. What matters is how the product will work on your computer and how well you practice safe computing. A lot of the protection from malware is up to the user and the type of sites he goes to and what he does with a computer. The best way to find out how good a product is to try it.

When you go to install NIS 2011, please remove any other security product that may have come installed on your computer.  That means using the control panel method with a reboot and then using the removal tool from the other company.

One way to judge the product is to see how many users come to the Norton Forum and then leave here satisfied for the most part. Of course you will find that some are not too happy with Norton, but even some of them leave here happier than they thought after they have some input with the Symantec Staff who come into a lot of times just to help out when this is supposed to be a user to user forum. This is one important thing that makes Symantec products stand out. You won't find many Forums where the Symantec Staff comes into a user to user and help out on their own free time.
