Daily updates too large...

After just 19 hours offline, my update was 12 megs, and required a restart. After restarting pc, Norton showed 3 minutes since last update. So, I click "check for updates" and it wants to download another 10 megs.  Does that seem normal? Thanks

Hi Jugador,

Which Norton product are you using?

How did you install it - from a CD/DVD, internet download?

DId you run Liveupdate when you installed it, rebooting as requested until such time as it reposnded "no updates found"?

It sounds like you installed it from an older CD/DVD and had to go thru all the upgrades to "ctach up".

Please provide more info in regards to the circumstances of the download of the intial install.

Re: Daily updates too large...

Hi...thanks for the reply.  I'm using NIS. I installed from my NIS 2011 cd.  I figured it would need to download some stuff to catch up to date, and it did download about 240 megs after I activated it.  I'll try updating and rebooting until it says no updates found.

Okay, that got it.  I had to update and restart 3 more times before it said  "no updates available".  Now it checks every 15 minutes or so and updates without needing a restart.  Thanks :robottongue:
