Damaged my computer

I installed NIS 2012 on my computer.......First it uninstalled my cdrom, then it crashed my computer.    Norton 360 V5 and 360 V6(trial version) run fine. But I updated to internet Security 2012 and now my computer will not run.  I system restored twice , but now it's dead.  What's the problem with NIS2012? Do NOT tell me it's a windows 7 problem because it's NOT.  Soooo , what are we going to do about my problem?

Re: Damaged my computer

Hi mjlarosa1,

Uninstalling Norton 360 sometimes removes drivers it uses to backup to CD/DVD.  This can be fixed easily by following the link posted in this article:

Cannot access CD/DVD after I install or uninstall Norton 360

As to the system crash, did you completely remove Norton 360 v6, which is a beta test product?

Welcome,

Sorry you are having this problem. Let's see if we can't get things fixed. First, you need to be sure you have all of the bits and bytes of all of the Norton products removed. Do this by running the Norton Removal Tool found here:  http://www.symantec.com/nrt/ after you run it the first time reboot and run it again. After another reboot reinstall the Norton product of your choice. Please install only one AND do not choose to install the beta [360v6] it is a work in progress and subject to change and may still contain errors - that's why it's still in testing.

I'm running W7x64 and NIS2012 right now without any problems [that I can see].

Remember the information provided by SendOfJive.

Keep us in the loop. We'll leave a light on :smileywink:
