Default UPnP block rule

Please help me to disable verbose loging of this rule (Default Block UPnP Discovery)

I have one TV attached to my router and my PC.  TV is set to Full Trust in Network Security Map

Re: Default UPnP block rule

Hi LazarusLong,

Norton will log these events as often as the rule is invoked.  The UPnP multicast is most likely coming from your router.  If you go into the router settings, you should be able to turn off UPnP, which will stop this traffic and end the logging.

Re: Default UPnP block rule

I'm not certain if your media server is using UPnP to open ports in the router.  If so, then disabling UPnP in the router would mean that you would have to do some manual router configuration to maintain connectivity for your streaming.  In that case, it would be easier to just leave UPnP enabled and ignore the Norton logs.  Chances are, though, that UPnP in the router is not needed.  I would go ahead and disable it.  If it breaks your TV viewing, just turn it back on.  The Norton logs are not an issue.

Re: Default UPnP block rule

Hi - I know that this is off the subject, but I have had to squeeze in somewhere to ask a very important question.

I have registered and signed in, but, despite spending ages searching various Norton Community pages, there is no

obvious link to creating a new Post.

Either there is something missing in my intellect, or it has been made very difficult to create and post a message.

Can anyone help

Once you find the product page you want to post in,at the top left of the page there is a button for 'New Message'. That will bring up the message editor.
