How do i delete an identity Safe profile from my C drive? I have two others on USB flash drives. I can't seem to locate the profile on C to be able to delete it. The folder that contains it is nowhere on C that I have found.

Hi JimtheESL,
I guess this is related to the other thread, is that correct?
How did your other issue turn out? Were you able to make progress as we discussed in the other thread?
You can find your ID safe information by searching starting at the following location:
C:\ProgramData\Norton
You will need to have Windows Explorer configured to show hidden files and folders.
More on displaying hidden files and folders: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/S
From the above location you will find a few directories with a bunch of numbers. Search from this location for "IDDStore.dat". This will be in a folder called "IdentitySafeDataStore".
You will need to delete the files in this folder but first you need to make sure you are not logged into the local ID safe profile and go to NIS Settings > Misc Settings and disable "Norton Product tamper Protection".
Then remove the files in that directory and re-enable Norton Product Tamper Protection.
Please let me know how it goes.
Best wishes.
Allen

Hi, Allen.
I ran several shut down tests yesterday while logged into both the local profile and the USB flash drive profile. I wasn't able to reproduce the problem I was having, so hopefully the problem is a thing of the past. I have made several backups since then just in case the data becomes unusable again.
Thanks for telling me the steps to delete the local profile. The Norton chat rep I contacted didn't know how to do this. He told me that I had to first reset the data of the local profile before deleting it, and didn't even know where to look to find the data. Your steps worked. Happy New Year, my friend!
