I've been using Antivirus 2010 and had about a week of my subscription to go. I purchased Antivirus 2011 and uninstalled the 2010 version. After installing the 2011 version from the disk I purchased, my subscription still has only a few days to expiration. I was not asked for the new product when I installed 2011. How do I get this recognized as a new 12 month subscription?

A bit closer to the expiry date, click "renew" at the bottom of the main page and insert your key.

Here are the detailed steps:
Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet.
Start your Norton 2011 product.
On the bottom of the Norton product window, click Renew.
In the box, type in your Product Key (You need to enter the new Product Key).
Click Next or the arrow button.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
When finished, review your subscription details, and then click DONE.

HI donlueders,
Welcome to the Norton Community.
Did you purchase your NAV (Norton Antivirus) subscription through the program or your Norton Account or from another vendor online?
If you purchased through the program or your Norton Account, you can go to Support > Subscription Status and it should add on the year you purchased to the current time remaining.
If you purchased through another vendor, then as others have stated wait until 1-2 days before your subscription expires before clicking Renew and entering your new product key.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

That worked. Thanks!
I looked at it as buying a new program, not renewing my update-subscription for an old one. But I guess to Norton, all the Antivirus versions are one program.

I have a somewhat similar problem, I have a norton AV 2011. I had 27 days balance in my previous subscription. When it prompted me to renew, I bought a new one and entered the product key. however I find that it showed balance of 366 days only
Am I not supposed to get 365 + the previous 27 days balance. During my previous renewals, I always got the previous balance added to the 365 days

Hello benji and welcome to the Community. Don't be too surprised if you find your post has been moved to a post of it's own. I think if you would have renewed on-line, your old days are added to your new days. If you enter a new boxed key, it's like starting a new program and you only get the one year protection. All is not lost hopefully... Try using this link to the U.S./Canada On-Line Chat Now window, you may have to scroll down a little to see the Chat Now button. Let them know what Norton product and version number you are using and just let them know you installed your new version too early and hopefully they can help you get your days back. They are usually very helpful and speedy. Come back and let us know how it goes..
