Do i have to buy a new key?

Hello.

I bought Internet Security download in Dec 2009 and installed it on two computers.

Subsequently in have had to buy a new computer as my desktop one went down and i want to download

Norton Internet Security 2010 on my new one. I  tried to download it from my Norton account page but the

download button is greyed out. Is the only option to buy a new key so i can download onto my new comp

at the price of £39?

I tried to contact Norton but i can't see an email address or phone number.

Any help is appreciated

Hi Jason,

Welcome to Norton Community!

You can download NIS 2010 using the below link to your new computer:

http://www.norton.com/nis10

Then use the Product Key from your Norton Account for activation.

Re: Do i have to buy a new key?

Providing that you bought a copy that can be installed on up to 3 computers, and you have used the product key on two pc's - you can install NIS on one more computer. If you have NIS 2009, and you want to update your version to NIS 2010, you can do so, without buying a new key. Just use your NIS 2009 key to activate the new version. You can download NIS2010 from here.

Re: Do i have to buy a new key?

jason,

Just to round off what the others have been saying --

Befpre upi actovate on your new computer access your Norton Account on line and note the number of activations already used.

If you can still access your old PC that crashed just delete the Norton from it. If you can't access it don't worry -- if you find that you can't activate on the new computer, maybe getting the message "You hae exceeded the number of activations ... " just get in touch with Customer Support:

To contact customer support Click on this link and work on from there.

You can choose CHAT or Email; phone may have a long wait time and feedback from users tells us that CHAT is by far the best at resolving problems.

Note that that link is to the USA/CAN website so if you are located elsewhere I'm sure you will be able to find the equivalent location on your local Symantec website; some pages have a link at the top right where you can select the country you are located in.

Similarly if you had say a 3 PC version and find that your new installation activates OK please check your Norton Account before and after the activation -- if it has notched up another use don't worry. Again, contact Customer Support  and tell them about the crash and installing on the new computer and they will correct your Norton Account.

Let us know if you have any questions .....
