Once testing is complete, the fix will be deployed via LiveUpdate later tonight or sometime tomorrow. I will put up another post to let everyone know when the fix is available.
Great to know. Thanks.
Good work, I'm very impressed with Symantec and I'm glad I have a 2 year subscription. ![]()

Hi everyone, I just wanted to give you an update on the fix. Testing took a little longer than we originally anticipated, but the update is now undergoing the final stages of certification and posting. It will be available to download via LiveUpdate around 12 AM PDT tonight. Thanks again to everyone who reported the issue and for your patience as we worked to resolve it.

Just a question: Is this fix targeted towards 2010 or it also includes 2011?
I'm asking because some users reported issues with 2011. I didn't had any issue yet but it's better to be in the safe side.
Thanks.

Hi brb,
Symantec is aware that this problem also affects NIS 2011 so I'm sure fixes will be provided for both.
In fact based on some testing I just done I believe NIS 2011 is now fixed but I need to do a bit more download testing to be sure. Firefox which was not working before is now working. I'll test on some additional files but I'm pretty sure this is now resolved.
If you still see the problem, be sure to manually run Live Update and then test again.
Best wishes.

Thanks a lot for the info AllenM, I never experienced any issues but I was a bit concerned that someday I might. ![]()
Good to hear that this is resolved.

I just downloaded the latest Catalyst drivers from the AMD website and didn't get a pop-up. Nothing logged in recent history.
Whoops, I just realised that I was using the 64-bit version of IE9 beta. That explains it!
On further investigation, I don't seem to be getting a Download Insight notification on some downloads. I've just checked the downloads I mentioned in post #8 of this thread, and I'm seeing the same behaviour as before.
Anyone else having issues?

Actually that's stated at What's new in Norton 2011 at http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Protection-B
Scroll down to New and Improved Download Insight and read the second half of the last paragraph:
Quoted: 'For some download applications, you may not see the Download Insight notification during the download but if you try to run the downloaded file and the file is unknown or bad, Download Insight will alert you before allowing the file to run.'

No, that's not the reason manuelFT. There's no record of the downloads being analysed in 'Recent History'.
