I have installed NIS 2011 on Windows 7 64bit.
When I try to install a program the download insight pops up telling me the program is safe.
However, it does not give me the buttons to run or block the program.
I have reinstalled NIS 2011 twice with the same results.
Thanks for any help.

Hello ebkruse and welcome!
The Download Insight option prompts are based upon the reputation of the file.
Assuming your NIS 2011 Download Intelligence settings are at the default level, you will not see the options such as "Run the installation" for known safe files.
In the event of an unknown file or a file with few users, you then will be presented with the options to Run the installation, Cancel the installation or Remove the file.
If this is what you are experiencing, NIS 2011 is working properly.

Thanks for the reply.
I was trying to install SafetyMinder.exe which would have a good reputation being its from Norton.
It would display the Download Insight window with no run button.
The only thing I could do was close the window..
SafetyMinder.exe would never run until I disabled the Download Insight feature.
I will keep an eye on it and see if it does it again in the future.
Thanks again.

That is interesting.
When downloading the file, did you select "Run" or "Save"?

i saved the file to my hard drive.
When I tried to execute the file, that is when this happens.

I just tried to download and install a file called ticonnect_eng.exe that I downloaded from Texas Instruments.
Again, I saved the file to my hard drive then double click the file.
The Download Insight pops up and states the file is safe.
Attached is a copy of the windows as it appears on my screen.
I have no way of telling the file to go ahead and run.
It just sits here with this window.
When I had NIS 2010, there was a Run and other options to prevent the file from running.
Thanks for you input

I cannot duplicate that window on my XP test computer. I get the window you expected with the three options.
Unfortunately, I do not use my Win7 x64 as a test machine.
Two questions:
• Since you are on Win7 x64, what happens if you right click the file and select "Run As Administrator" ?
• Can you install the file if you close the Download Insight window?

I have tried installing with run as administrator with no luck.
If I close the window, nothing happens.
I execute the file again and the Download Insight comes right back up in this way.
The only way around it is to temporarily disable download insight.

Let me see if I can get some additional help for you on this issue.
Can you confirm under Web Settings > Download Intelligence, that "Download Insight Full Report" is set to "Unproven Only"?
Thanks!

That is correct. Download Insight Full Report is set to Unproven Only.
Thanks.
