I use Free Download Manager from freedownloadmanager.org in Firefox 10.0.2 to download my files. The problem i have is that NIS 2012 does not scan my files after download. I like this download manager because i only have a 1 Mbps internet connection and this speeds up my downloads.

for what I knon this 'Download intelligence' feature is not working with some of this kind of software.

anyway, every file is scanned by the AV at creation and run.

If it is a 'File Of Interest' (exe, dll and executable in general), you should have the possibility to right click that file after download and see similar information using Norton File Insight.

   You'll get the File insight POP-up only for the Softwares whuch are coming under Portal 1. And all the other softwares like Download managers nad not frequently used Browsers comes under Portal 2. The files downloaded through the Portal2 softwares will be scanned while executing those files. You can check the scanning activity in the Security History.
