You might want to do checkdisk in your computer. Find the steps in the MS page.
There are chances that your system is infected. Run a scan using any of the virus removing tools suggested on forum, such as Malwarebytes.

I think this problem is connected with a situation I have with my computer. I am unable to open my computer without resorting to the option of using the "Last known normal start" Consequently, I re-introduce the error 3043-1 message. By the time I close down the computer the message has disappeared & Norton is working properly..

Followed all the instructions, but Norton 2011 refused to work. My computer partly crashed. Could only use my email, but no access to internet. Tried the same proceedure again, but it would not work. Cleared away all unneccessary files to create as much free space on my hard disc as possible. Tried to reload my original version of Norton 2010, but got a blue screen warning each time. I now have no working security system. What do you suggest?

Finally after 3 more attempts, I have managed to upload Norton 2011. A tip for other people with this problem. After uploading Norton 2011, if you are requested to re start, use the Norton rebootable recovery tool first. It will save you the trouble of going through the whole proceedure again.
