zsabbasi,
I have sent you a PM about this issue. Also, did you have any other security products installed such as Zone Alarm, prior to installing NIS 2009?

I've had exactly the same problem. It's still not fixed. I've never had any problem with installing other NIS versions but 2009 is very frustrating. I've tried running the removal tool several times and reinstalling NIS 2009 several times and it's the same result.
I'm not a tech type, just an ordinary consumer. All I want is to install the software and have it protect my computer and not spend hours fiddling around.
Please help.

Hello ymo,
I am sorry that you have had this issue. We are trying to determine the root cause of the issue. Would you be willing to help us out? What I'd like to do is schedule a remote support session with you. It will take about 1-2 hours, in which we will remotely connect to your computer and see if we could gather logs while reproducing the problem.
If you are interested, please send me a private message.
Regards,
Oscar

For all other users that are experiencing this problem, can I ask a few questions?
1) Did you do an upgrade from an earlier version of NIS/NAV to 2009?
2) Do you have more than one user account on the system?
3) Are you using Windows XP SP3?
4) Did you see this problem straight away after installing?

Yes I did upgrade from NIS2008 to NIS2009
The user accounts are administrator any myself (With admin rights) while administrator was never used.
Was XP2 but I thought that may be its an SP2 issue to upgraded to SP3 but still exactly the same error.
Yes after the first install the system crashed at exactly the same point as in my previous messages.

Hi Oscar
Yes, please. I'd appreciate your help via a remote session. I don't know how to reply via a private message... Pls advise...

Hi there --
To send Oscar L a private message through the forum system click on his name on a message -- in red -- and this brings up a screen of his Profile. Over on the right side you'll see: Send this user a private message so click on that and it brings up the Private Message system.
A tip -- If you are using a tabbed browser like IE7 or Firefox, Right Mouse Click on his name and select Open in a new TAB. Then when you have finished sending the reply and want to get back here (or if you need to refer to something in a message here) you can switch back and forth or just close the Private Message TAB. Otherwise it can be a long series of Back arrows to get from the Private Mesage system back to the Forum!

tip 2:
If you hold down the control key and left-click, it will open in a new tab automatically.
In either IE or Firefox.
