FEDUP WITH NIS2009 - GIVEUP

Dear All,

I am fedup with using NIS2009!! (NOT THE FOLKS AT THIS FORUM)...But the NIS2009 program...REALLY, I am so close to give up NIS2009 altogether. If not for that have recently renewed my subscription.

I am not too sure how other users feels.

NIS2009 is buggy.  Some bugs are minor, other are not, but they all really bother users.  When one thing works, the other things fails.  Worst, I am sure that Symantec will not fix the bugs any time soon.

Frankly, I personnally feels NIS2009 could be still in BETA when released to the public.  It should be test further before releasing.

I really comtemplating of not using NIS2009 and revert to using something else.

NIS2009 IS DRIVING ME CRAZY.....PLEASE GET THE BUGS FIX!!!

Re: FEDUP WITH NIS2009 - GIVEUP

Feeling better now? <s>

Seriously, you have posted quite a few messages here but how about listing the things that have really hit you when using NIS2009, but include on what version of Windows and all the usual suspects ....

Sure NIS2009 should still be in beta -- so should Windows XP to say nothing of VISTA ..... but marketing rules these days alas and I'm sure the 2009 versions were released when they were so that they were in the retail pipeline in time for the next great sales surge (if it ever comes).

You've seen here that Staff are honest and open and are receptive to constructive criticism. And the volunteers aren't a bad lot either <g>

Re: FEDUP WITH NIS2009 - GIVEUP

I have NIS 2009 installed on my laptop and desktop. I also installed it on 10 other machines and have no issues. You seem to have tons of issues but I dont think they are all NIS related. Maybe its time you reformat.

Hi this is Tech0utsider =)

Is this just a thread for anger management or resolving bugs?

Could you specify which bugs? I had NIS09 beta on all my computers without a hitch. If you want, you can try Kaspersky, which took the editors at PCmag 2 reboots and 20 minutes to install; then Windows Firewall offered to block Kaspersky.

I think NIS 2009 is the best security suite out there. I guess none of you have ever tried other products. I have used just about everything out there. But honestly never a problem. My pc never crashes or gets BSOD's. Sometimes I believe peoples pc's crash due to other reasons. Its like a time bomb ticking but it doesnt go off till they install something new. But everyone wants to blame NIS 2009. I have 2 pc's both running XP SP3. One laptop and one desktop. I installed NIS 2009 on both and never had an issue. Everything runs great. NIS 2009 did mess up after the last Microsoft Patch Tuesday but a simply unisntall and reinstall fixed that issue. Hey dont you all remember when ZA had issues with Patch Tuesday. People screw around with there pc's. Delete things they aren't suppose to then they wonder why they have problems. I have also installed NIS 2009 on 10 other machines and they all run flawlessly. Instead of putting the blame on NIS 2009 why dont we look harder into our pc's and figure out the real problem. I did just recently have a problem with Threatfire causing NIS 2009 to crash but I fixed it by uninstalling Threatfire. BTW.............why does everyone constantly reformat if they are having issues.  I am going on the same install of XP for 6 years now. Laptop has been running for 2 years. If I had to reformat it would take me about 3 weeks to get my pc back to where it was. Too much work. Reformatting in not necessary unless your having serious errors.

Re: FEDUP WITH NIS2009 - GIVEUP

Hi All

For my 2 cents worth, maybe ignorance is bliss,I don't know bugger all about PC's as you know by my questons. So when something happens.I run here,I know PC's are not perfect so that's all I have to work on!So Sea monster hang in if you can and don't let a pile of plastic/whatever drive you nuts.Hey try a couple of kids fighting over who wants to sit in the front seat of the car!!!!!:smileywink:At least you can turn off a malfunctioning PC(I think!!)
