Keep checking with live update. The new version of NIS has been released and should be availabe to everyone.
A temp fix is to download this addon for FF.

Thank you both for trying to help, but as of this minute, I’m still patiently waiting for the train to arrive to this station... I’m thinking of the floods somewhere, who knows?...
Dave, I have been doing that every day for almost a week now! And still, ayer, nada! Hoy, nada! Like I said, maybe one of these manãnas…

Hi PhoneMan,
Thank you very much. I did try the link you provided and I am using now NIS 18.6.0.29. Apparently, NORTON WAS READY before I knew it and I didn't even need to wait for mañana in order to be trickle fed... ![]()
After installing the download and having been asked to reboot, I could see that I had in fact the new version. Interestingly though, I also noticed my Live Update status was showing that my last update had been run 23 days ago... Whow! And after running it, I had 61.9 MB of updates... Why so? I had run Live Update a couple hours before! Or does it mean that NIS 18.6 was READY all along, 23 days before I got it? Could the trickle down process take that long?
Now, if you don't mind, why have I not seen any announcement from Norton about this release yet?
Thanks again for your help.

bjm,
You must be kidding! That's the announcement we have been discussing here for the last couple days with Hugh, PhoneMan and others... And it's the same announcement that says this:
--------------------------------------------------
2. When will I receive the patch?
As a standard practice, we will be deploying the patch in a phased manner. On Monday, May 2nd 2011, we will be releasing the patch to some randomly selected English customers. We will then monitor our telemetry, as well as this forum, for any problem reports or issues.
Once we have confirmed the effectiveness of the patch we will make it available to all customers. We will post an update on the Norton Community Forums when we make the patch available to all customers.
3. How can I manually install these patches?
This update is currently only available through LiveUpdate. We will update this post when we have the update published in other venues

To witness, I could never get this patch through Live Update and the only way I could get was by manually downloading it using the link provided by PhoneMan, as you may have been able to notice.
Is this really the announcement your link was meant to lead me to? Or what am I missing?
Thanks.

As suggested, if you'd scrolled down you would get here:
but I have to say you have a valid point because Tim's second post does not show up clearly enough if you look at the Announcements as listed since it is a reply to his first post -- and only the 1 under replies and the most recent date indicate that there might be something there.

neigh-ho-ma,
You are absolutely right, indeed! I hereby send my apologies to whomever may have felt I was too harsh...
Hugh,
It's very kind of you trying to sooth my wounds after they were rubbed with salt... May I call it a draw???
I still say I could not get the patch via Live Update, no matter what Tim states in both posts. I could only get it after following the link provided by PhoneMan. But it's OK. Thanks to both of you for helping me see the light…

Lin Yu,
Unless you qualified for the "English" version then Tony told us that it would only come from LiveUpdate for the English version.
The Phoneman link is not one authorized by Norton for updating as you can tell from the BuyNow in the URL. I don't know what version it is of the myriads they configure for different markets.
