Force LiveUpdate

Hello people. I'm very pleased with my recently bought NIS 2011. It runs flawlessly and smoothly, but there is a question about Liveupdate that i don't like at all. When i boot my computer, Liveupdate take a long time to update the virus database (sometimes 1 hour), unless i do it manually. Is there a way to force Liveupdate when i boot the computer?

  Thanks

Re: Force LiveUpdate

Well, i added to Start Menu the direct access from Liveupdate ("C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Engine\18.5.0.125\uistub.exe" /lu). Is there any way to run this in silent mode and close the window when the update finishes?

  Thanks

Open NIS 2011 and click 'Settings > Miscellaneous Settings > Automatic Tasks Delay'. The default value is 20 minutes; change it to a smaller value like 5 or 10 minutes. From the Help file:

Automatic Tasks Delay

Lets you specify the duration for running Norton-specific programs on your computer that run automatically when you turn on your computer.

For example, you can delay Automatic LiveUpdate to run automatically as soon as you start your computer. It does not delay Norton Internet Security protection. You can specify Automatic Tasks Delay duration for a period of 1 minute to 20 minutes. The default duration is 20 minutes.

Re: Force LiveUpdate

Thanks a lot! Works well now. Curiosly, i talked this morning with a Norton agent, via chat, and he didn't know this trick. He recommended me that i reinstall NIS... Crap support :robotmad:

Best regards
