I got rid of Strongvault using Microsoft Fix It. If you go to http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/ and filter the solutions for "uninstall" you will have a chance to download the Microsoft Fixit solution for help when a program doesn't uninstall. If you run that, then tell it you want to uninstall a program, it will give you a list of programs that you need help cleaining up. Scroll down to Strongvault, select it, and tell it to uninstall. Worked fine for me. Latest scan shows no remnants of the program on my system any longer, and Norton Utilities is working fine again.

Thanks for that information.
Hope it helps the OP.

Thank you both for the FixIt solution. I did try it at the time, and it did wasn't useful. It's been a few weeks so I don't exactly remember, but I think it didn't display Strongvault as something I could uninstall. I don't have any lingering issues that I know of.
Thanks again.
