You can try the solved in this thread http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/NIS-360-
Or use System Restore to use a Restore point to before Norton was installed (say yesterday) .

Quads,
Thanks for your reply. I read the thread but I feel worried to start acting on it because I might not have the exact same situation. I wish I get someone to reply to me step by step like that other thread. How can I get such help?

I have to say since last night, I did reboot to a previous point (8 days ago) and my programs are back, but the Norton that I downloaded yesterday does not work. It has an icon in program list but not working! I have the 3 devices NIS offer. If I remove NIS again would that be counted as my second attempt? :( What should I do? Help.

Just to be sure...do you have NIS 2012 or the new NIS 2013 version 20 installed.

Thanks for the reply.
It is NIS 2012 (the one I did yesterday). Before that I always used norton products, but I have none from th eold installed at this point and I uninstalled a McCaffe that was there without my knowledge!

Did you use the McAffe Removal tool to completely remove that program ? Remnants leftover from another security program will conflict with Norton.

I used the control pannel uninstall button from programs. Does that do the trick? What should I do next?

As the restore got back your programmes but has left you with remenants of the Norton installation what you can try is run the Norton removal tool & see if that removes the leftovers from Norton product & then as you've also said that you'd previously has McAfee on the computer you should also find & run the removal tool for that software, then hopefully a reinstall of NIS will not affect your other programmes.
