I understood that the site verification period was approximately 2 weeks but currently my site www.valepestcontrol.co.uk has been waiting for more than 11 weeks for approval. Would this be normal?

I've just checked to make sure that the verification file is still in my root folder; it was in the public_html which I have left it in and it is also in the folder above that which I guess is the root folder but I don't know

Can anyone advise?
