Help needed!

I have created a software in Visual Basic but Norton wont let it reside on a computer guard by norton. It keep mentionning that it is a virus/trojan but in fact it doesnt.

How can I make Norton understand that the simple software I have created is safe?

Thanks!

Re: Help needed!

Hi charest,

Welcome to the Norton Community.

Can you tell us which Norton product you have and the exact version from Help > About? Also what OS and SP do you have and is it 32 or 64 bit?

Does the program you are creating keep the same filename and reside in the same location all the time?

If so, you can configure either a specific file or the parent directory in Norton's exclusion. If you have NIS 2011 you can do this from Settings > Computer. Then add the file(s) and/or directory to both Items to Exclude from Scans" and "Items to Exclude from Auto-Portect and SONAR".

Be sure to check the option to include sub-folders as appropriate.

If you have a different Norton product the configuration might be somewhat different so we can help further once we have the additional details.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.

Allen
