artfreak,
Dave is right. They just released a new definition set that should fix the issue if you do a manual LiveUpdate download now. You should then re-enable the Intrusion Prevention Add-On with no problems. It works for me now anyway. :)

Mine's fixed now!
Thanks.

I would be the only one but mines not fixed, well it takes well over 60 seconds to open.
It jumped in intrus prev eng vers number to: 4.8.0.20.......20110317.005 still no oo3.
Incidentally I reset all my ie settings in props yet again.

Can everyone who said its fixed please do a machine restart to be sure? Its restarts that stop it from opening right again.

Can everyone who says theres is running please tell me if you run ie8 or 9 ? Im running 9 now but it had happen w/ 8 too.

And I've just rebooted to make sure, and yes the add-on is enabled ;-)

Hi Dave sorry didnt see your request to re update and all it did was update map no change sorry. ie9. still newly 005
when 9 opens it says speed up your 97 second load time by disabling norton toolbar and intrus prev!
I have a 64 bit machine but it usually runs 32 bit browser as far as I know.

I should have made it clear I am running IE8 on Vista 32-bit OS. For me, the latest LiveUpdate fixed the issue but I can't comment on IE9 or 64-bit operating systems. Sorry you're still having problems with this, artfreak! :(

Artfreak,
That is a different problem than what everyone else has seen (IE 9 suggesting disabling slower loading plugins). The reboot and updated definitions does not resolve that issue. The issues with IE9 are not yet released to customers (to prevent IE9 from suggesting the IPS browser add-on be disabled).
Getting package .005 only resolves the issue of IE 8 hanging.
