High CPU usage

Hello. I apologize if this is a common issue, but I don't know much about it. Occasionally, like when we're playing games on the computer or running multiple programs or something, a pop-up from norton comes up that says "High CPU usage from (Insert program name here)". How serious is it and what could I do to prevent it from happening? Thanks!

Hello!

Ignore it or turn the notifications off. That a computer game uses a lot of system resources is good, not bad. The more processing- and video card power it can use, the better it will run.

The more demanding the game, the more CPU and GPU (video card processor) it will use. Some of the most demanding games, like Battlefield 3, will have 100% GPU usage and 80%+ CPU usage to run at a good framerate on high settings, and that's on a high-end system. And what you want is to have it use as much resources as possible.
