How can I close/disable Norton Internet Security Netbook Edition?

Ive been trying to run some low-end full screen games, and norton keeps closing or stopping them from working every single time I run them!

For example: When I run Battlefront 2, I have every single window and program closed. As soon as it starts, the Noront Internet Security main window pops in and stops the game fom booting, leaving me looking at nothing but a black screen. Then I have to alt+tab out of the black screen, and the first thing I see is the main Norton window, doing absolutely NOTHING. However, the Battlefront 2 window minimizes, and as soon as I click it to restore it to its original full screen size, it closes.

Something similar happens with Battlefield 2. The only difference is that Battlefield 2 closes once the Norton window opens. Both games have been tested both on normal mode and compatibility mode, and ran as an administrator. All I can think right now is on closing or disabling Norton every time I want to play. If I dont, I might not be able to play at all.

Hi,

you should try to enable Silent Mode first. Here are the steps:

1. Before running those games go to the system tray (by the clock)

2. There find the little Norton icon, and right click on it

3. Select Turn on Silent Mode

4. Set the duration, and click on OK

5. Now run the game

6. When you are out of the game, turn Silent Mode off by the same place

Let us know the results.

Alright Battlefront 2 runs great. But I cant run Battlefield 2 since it tries to load, and then quits instantly. Any ideas on why this is happening? Im not sure if this is related to Norton.

Im currently using Windows 7 Starter. I wanted to change to 7 Ultimate with a disk I have, but sadly, that would risk all of the programs and freebies that came with my computer.

And is Battlefield 2 compatible with Win7 Starter? It is possible that because some of the limitation of the Starter Edition the game simply would not start.

Plus do you have all the latest patched (if there are) for the game installed?

Well, it is the last patched version, and I have 2 gbs of RAM memory, from which I have 1,5 free. Im now making a fresh install with an ISO file I made from my original DVD. I hope this works out
