I installed NIS 2010 back in September (2009) and it used to keep track of software installations. It doesn't do that any more. The last installation on my system according to the Performance window was on October 13, 2009 for the monthly Windows XP SP3 security updates. I can tell you that I've done a number of installs since then, including the November 2009 security updates. It still intermittently tracks software downloads, but not installations.
NIS 2010 simply stopped keeping track of or logging installs after October13, 2009. Is there any reason for this?

Hi Morac,
There have been several reports of this behavior, most recently here:
I've seen this and it always seem to be a non "pristine" installation.
NIS 2010 was installed on a 100% pristine system for me, and it still lost the ability to track new installations a few days later. A fresh Windows 7 installation, with only the basic drivers (chipset, graphics, network, sound) installed before NIS.

FWIW:
On my XP system, the last recorded install is Oct 16, although there have been several installs since that date.
On my Win7 system (clean install), installs continue to show up correctly, including one earlier today.

Hi!
I think I might have found the reason: I did a re-install of NIS2010, just to test this, and it tracked installs fine... until I used the Clear history function. Then it lost the capability to track installs.
