How do I get my Norton Toolbar

Hi,

I just installed NIS 2012, but I don't see the Norton Toolbar.  I thought that was just loaded automatically.  I have Firefox 9.0.1 and I also checked IE, and it wasn't showing up there either.  I checked the toolbar menus to see if Norton was listed but turned off, and didn't see it there.  I also went to the extensions menu in firefox, and searched for it, but couldn't find it in firefox's online extension database.

I'm using win7 64 bit.

Am I missing something?  Does this get installed separately?

Re: How do I get my Norton Toolbar

What antivirus/firewall program(s) did you have installed prior to NIS 2012 and how did you uninstall it/them?

Do you have any other security programs still installed?

Hi,

Have you rebooted and reopened those programs?

Hi mikekehrli,

Due to the eminent full release of 19.5, we have temporarily removed the 19.2 patch off of the LiveUpdate server (which is necessary for us to post a newer patch). The Firefox patches that we have released to keep up with the new Firefox schedule require 19.2, which is why your toolbar is currently not working. We should have this up again in the next couple days. Sorry for the trouble!

Keep an eye on these forums and we'll post an announcement when 19.5 is permanently released, which will solve your Firefox compatibility woes. :smileyhappy:

Re: How do I get my Norton Toolbar

You need to enable it in both browsers. In Firefox 9.01 you need to click the little orange bar in the top left corner, click on Addons and scroll to the bottom and where you see both Norton components click on Enable on the right side. Close Firefox and reopen it. In Internet Explorer 9 you need click on Tools or the wrench icon at the top right and click on Manage Addons. Enable both Norton Components there. Close Internet Explorer and reopen it. Now in Internet Explorer right click on the top of the windows and click near where it saysNorton Toolbar. You'll now see it in both browsers.
