I don't think they do. Here is the screenshot I took of NIS10: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Nis2010mainscree
Plus, I'm sure most of us know the version straight off the bat just by looking at its GUI.

Tywun,
That image you posted and linked to shows the name Norton Internet Security at the top .....
I asked two questions: the name of the application and the version of it and I know that I gave the correct way to learn the version ID .....

Hello Hugh
Yes, I believe all the products should show their name on the front of the program and the version number should be in the help about location..
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

Thanks Flo
I wasn't sure about some of the earlier ones. It seemed better to ask the OP directed questions than trying to deduce form what it looked like!

HI Tywin7,
Unfortunately it only gives the information from Support > About and from this you can derive the year. Version 16.xx is 2009, 17.xx is 2010 and 18.xx is 2011.

The product does not give its version name ie Norton internet security 2010 either on the front page or in the about section. Former Norton internet security clearly state their year name on the main gui
To avoid misunderstanding Name is Norton Internet Security / Norton AntiVirus / Norton 360 .....
Version is not a name but is a number which is in the format nn.nn.nn.nnn and is frequently referred to as Version ID if only to differentiate from the other "codes" that are on the About screen. From the Version number we know how to deduce the year as AllenM has shown you.
That is why I asked the OP the original question in two parts: Name and Version ID -- this is unambiguous and I believe more straightforward than asking if it looks like this or like that.
In the case of Norton 360 it is thoroughly confusing since unless it has been changed the ID on the downloaded file uses a different code to the Version number. But since this is the NIS/NAV Forum that's someone else's problem ....

What I'm saying that is in old NIS, the name and date is clearly stated: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:NIS2006.jpg (NIS2006)
Starting from 2007, the version info is no longer stated on the front page.

I've done some rough edit on the main program using paint and I've slip strim the date version into the product.
