My license is Dutch. Whatever I do, uninstall, removal tool, go via http://updatecenter.norton.com/ nothing helps...

(updatecenter tells me: "You already have the latest version of your Norton product installed on your computer"

Although I removed everything, even all Norton folders on C-drive.

Have a license for the Dutch version - it seems that I stuck with it.

Any solutions?

Welcome to the Norton community,

Go to the Norton Update center via http://updatecenter.norton.com/ and on the top right hand side it should show as english.Click on where it says English and you will get the option to change it to Dutch.

Once its done it will ask you to select the product.Choose Norton Internet Security and the version as 2011 and click on continue which should give you the Dutch version.

Let me know if this worked.

The Norton Update Center will download the product with whatever language is indexed into the Product Key that you used to activate the product.  For example, if you install an English language version, but activate with a key from a Dutch version, the Update Center will download a Dutch version.  To upgrade an English version you should use the direct link to the English installer:

You won't be able to change the language of the product once it is installed.

If you want a Dutch version of Norton Internet Security 2012, you can download it from www.norton.de/nis12

and use the same product key which you got , to activate it.

When buying a license I was automatically directed to the Dutch site, so my license is for the Dutch version. At time of buying I did not realise that I was 'restricted' to a Dutch version and it would be fairly complicated to change that.

Anyway, bottomline: I'd like to have the English version of NIS2012:  it is a bit easier to communicate here, whilst using the English version.

Maybe, at one point in time, Norton will distribute a kind of "International" version, allowing users to select the language they wish to install when setting things up.

Even though your license is for the Dutch version, you can still use the same Product Key to activate an English version.  Just uninstall the Dutch and install the English version, which you can get from the link I posted above.

I am downloading it now and will get back on this.

Actually, I _tried_ to find a workaround myself yesterday by downloading a trial version. The steps one has to go thru to get a trial version is that you need to provide credit-card details again (though the charge will be '0'). Actually at that point I stopped, as I was not sure how that my 'conflict' with an existing license, etc.

One shd simply able to download a trial exe.

Same counts for when having bough the product: the last step is one of downloading  _and_  installing. I did not see a way to just download it, without installing. Personally I prefer to first remove an existing Security Suite first, close all applications (virtual drives), etc. Also I want to be able to re-install a program running it from my HDD.

Meanwhile I've got the file  "NIS-ESD-19-1-0-28-EN.exe" 109mb.

Once you get the English version installed, just put in your Dutch key where it says to renew if it doesn't pick up your key automatically. Please do not go to the update center if you have to reinstall again for some reason. If you go to the update center again, you will end up with the Dutch language program as it is tied to the product key. When you come here to get the program, you can get it in any language you want that is offered by Symantec. and activate it with the key you have as long as your subscription is still valid and current. Thanks.
