I have chosen OFF in Idle Time Scans under Computer Settings
but it only stops Idle Full Scans apparently as Quick are still running every now and then.
It really annoys me, and makes my HDD tired![]()
Does anyone knows how to do it?

Hello nlover
Welcome to the Norton Community Forum
You can not turn off idle quick scans. Idle quick scans are very fast and will run when ever there is an antivirus definition update and if your computer is idle. They run for the protection of your computer and are very light. If you turned off Idle scans, then you should schedule your weekly antivirus scan then at a convenient time for you.

Hello nlover
You're welcome. If you turn your idle timeout down to 1 minute, you will find that the scan will happen very quickly as it will take less waiting time for your computer to be considered as idle. If you practice healthy computer use and get up from your computer every hour or 2 to walk around a bit, when you come back to your computer, most likely some of the background work can then take place and you won't notice it even.
