How to unregister from old computers?

Hello,

My family just upgraded computers. We have three computers and use all three of our product key subscriptions. How do I unregister the old computers so we can register the new computers?

Also, one of the computers had a major malfunction, and we had to reinstall Windows 7 64-bit. After the installation Norton was blocking all internet access, so I unistalled it. However, I believe the computer is still registered with Norton. I need to unregister it if possible. Thank you for your time.

The best way would be to activate Norton Management by opening up one of the Norton installation main screens and clicking on Account.

Either then -- or after logging in if you get a popup asking you to -- click on Norton Apps / Norton Management and let that install.

It should populate with details of each installed copy but I'm not sure of the details; look for instructions as you go.

Once it does, if you can identify the obsolete computers under the My Devices TAB, you can click on a dustbin in that area which when you hover the mouse pointer over it says Remove Device ... not Remove Product on a different part of the screen.

See this image where as you can see I used the pencil icon to label the activation in a way that tells me which PC and OS etc it is on.

After you have deactivated you will have spare activations to use again for the remainder of your subscription.

You can do the same with the malfunction but what are you using to protect that system? Can we help you get that working again under NIS protection?

If you need more detailed help please say so and tell us which version of Windows each PC has and also what is the Version ID of your NIS -- that's under Support / About in the format nn.nn.nn.nnn where n is a number from 1 - 0
