Hi
Please can someone help me. I am trying to verify ownership of my website www.mandrrenovations.co.uk in order to get a safe website verification so a little green tick will been shown against it. but i am unable to follow the verification process owing to the fact that my site is powered by Microsoft Office Live and does not allow me to put the authentication file in a root folder.
Is the there any other way i can verify ownership of my site?
I am a bit of a novice, so help in simple terms would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks

Hello Crews_R,
Since you cannot access the Root Directory, you can try an alternate method.
You can add the nortonsw authentication code by means of a Meta Tag to your Main (Home) Page.
Meta Tags are commonly used for "Keywords" or "Description" and you can create this new tag using your site building program.
Use nortonsw as the file name and the full authentication code as the content. The File Content or authentication code is the 128 character alphanumeric code that would have been sent in your email registration.
Although this method will not allow for the automated verification, it should assist the Safe Web team in verifying your site.
Let me know when you have completed this step and I will check that the code is properly located.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

The authentication code in your keywords meta tag looks good and I shall notify the Safe Web team who will manually verify site ownership. Allow them a day or two to respond back to you in this thread.
Remember, this method will not allow for the automated verification process, so for now, do not be concerned that ownership has not yet been verified in the Safe Web portal.
Once ownership has been verified, your site will be queued for the rating evaluation.
Be sure the code remains in place until ownership is verified. Leaving the code in the meta tag will not affect your site or the visitor's experience.
Thanks!

Thanks for adding the auth code in a meta tag on your site.
We have verified owership of your site 'mandrrenovations.co.uk' and queued it for analysis.
It should get rated shortly on 'safeweb.norton.com'.
