 Dear Experts,

        I installed the Internet security 2010 today and now I can't log onto my windows live messenger. It says it cannot log on to the internet when I choose the troubleshoot option. I use Windows XP. How can I fix this?

then I tried the troubleshoot option and it says that it cant connect using internet explorer ( I use firefox but still have explorer as an option) so I clicked on my Internet explorerand it says it cannot connect

That makes sense in terms of Messenger (WLM) including the latest version, still, as far as I know uses Internet Explorer and it's settings, including the Internet Options connection settings to log in and connect to the web.

If something is wrong with Internet Explorer like selected to "Work Offline" or the Internet Option settings, even if a small setting like the proxy setting,  Messenger also doesn't work.

AND, they still don't work with the Firewall disabled / turned off.  My Internet Explorer works properly with the Firewall turned on.
