I want to say that I really love Norton Internet Security 2009.
I have tried a ton of different programs, and I have found NIS 2009 to be the best one.
It caught a bunch of Trojans on my computer that the other programs missed.
Thank you Symantec for making a fantastic program.
(I hope I posted this in the right section).
Using Norton Internet Security 2009.

Hi 47,
Nice testimonial! I happen to be very impressed with NIS 2009 also.

I like the fact that it is nice and light on the system, as well as getting Pulse Updates, but, apart from that, I am not too mad about it because there needs to be more Options for the "Background Jobs" (B.J.); would be good if "Idle" Quick Scan would NOT run when Idle-Time Scanning if OFF, as well as have a seperate Option for Pulse Updates for the restr of the B.J., or, even better, have a list of ALL B.J.s and let the User choose which ones to have On or Off (by Default, they should ALL be On). Any idea of N.I.S. 2010, which I hope symantec go with, but we'll have to wait and see...

Hi Tech :
If you don't like NIS then why to use it .........leave it then and use anything else
There are many products in the market.........use those who pass every test (including malware ,spyware ,script blocking , encrypted ones and all wild categories )...(antivirus is by default).
You would then not get any kind of infection and no problems at all .
But I think you would get hardly anyone passing all categories ![]()
Best of luck !!!

I've used Norton Internet for the past six years. Some installs were better than others, but it is the same
for any good program. Make sure you have a clean install. Shut everything off while installing. Take old unused programs out first. New programs can't be expected to run well with old programs. Many "bugs"are
caused by incompatibilities or a lack of forethought. I am just as guilty. I loaded NIS 2009 into an old
Pentium4 1.6 with 256 M of RAM. It was a little tight. The system resources did not max out until the scan hit
an ancient Open Office 1.1. I was lucky it squeaked by. This version of NIS is excellent. Nothing is perfect, but other posters have offered very helpful suggestions on other "on demand" software that picks up any slack. Both of my installs were problem free for a change. Great product!
