As I reported in the update comments, one login was fixed but my GMAIL logins are not.

Re: ID Safe Issue NIS 2011>>NIS2012 upgrade

Tim Lopez: "As a standard practice, we will be deploying the patch in a phased manner. On Friday, January 27th 2012, we will be releasing the patch to English customers for a few hours only. We will then monitor our telemetry, as well as this forum, for any problem reports or issues."

As it happens, I was away from my PC over the last week, including the 27th. Having returned I have run Live Updated repeatedly but don't receive the update to 19.5.0.145. Can't get it manually either.

Am I correct in thinking that due to bad timing meaning I was away on the day I missed out on the fix I have been waiting for for so long and will now have to wait yet again? Or, by "English cutomers"  am I to take it I don't receive it because I don't live in England?!

Initially I was delighted to see the fix appeared to be available then aggrevated yet again to find I can't receive it.

Gotta say Tim, what use is a few haphazard hours when I brought this to Symatec's attention months ago, have needed the fix for 6 months, and need it now?? It's like some sort of bad joke.........

Symantec: for God's sake, how about one of the following:

1. Release the fix at-your-own-risk.for those of us who've lost >1man-day apiece to this mess.

2. Release a reinstall of NIS2011 for pro-tem use.

...or, how about extending our subscription? Mine expires in 29 days.

I started this thread in November and still have some id's that do not work. The update did fix my TIVO.COM id but not GMAIL or BofA.

19.5 seems to have broken the 2 page BofA login for me as well.  Also, Norton Account (account.norton.com) only works intermittently.  (Firefox 9.01)

Same here  with boa and a local credit union also in fire fox 9.0.1 my norton account does not work. But In  IE9 my norton account login does work !! Seems like it is sometimes a browser problem.    ALF60

Hear, hear. Great question.

Never mind having to be patiently cautious, what MPSAN and all the rest of us are expressing is that for us, and many others out there, the NIS 2012 Identity Safe product has been flawed since the day we paid for it.

What say you go to your local dealership and buy a brand new model of the make of vehicle you've always found a great product? You're looking forward to continued happy motoring right? Thing is, as you're driving away from the dealership you find the steering is faulty and with the roads you travel on full of potentially hazardous turns, the vehicle fails to corner safely.

Disappointed, you return to the dealership and they acknowledge the problem, one that others are experiencing they say. They state, "Yes, yes, we know. Can you please keep driving the vehicle and inform us as to whether or not the problem occurs when you turn left or right". Hell, I gotta get to work, you think, so you do that. You wait; and you wait some more. Reaching the limit (not the spped limit because the vehicle handles so badly) you contact the dealership and they promise a replacement steering unit.

Many miles down the road - almost at the stage when you have always traded in for the next new model - as a frustrated, dissatisfied consumer having been sold a product that isn't entirely fit for the purpose upon which promises were made when it was marketed, you are suddenly offered a window of opportunity to have the steering issue "remedied". "It's your lucky day! We've got a new improved steeering unit that'll solve all your problems!", the dealership says. "And, for some lucky valued customers, this replacement unit that'll finally make your vehicle road worthy is only available for a few hours - so be in quick in case you miss out!"

Sound satisfactory? Sound like a good deal for the consumer who has a right to expect value for money in buying in good faith what they were led to believe was a complete and vialble product from a reputable manufacturer?

And the idea the replacement steering unit might have flaws (bugs you might say) in it that require additional risk taking by the consumer because it may further compromise their driving experience? Gimme a break....

Re: ID Safe Issue NIS 2011>>NIS2012 upgrade

Re extended subscription demand:  respect your point of view but I'm from another planet.

I need NIS to behave, now.

I'd happily pay anew for restored behavior.

No time.  Unaffordable disaster.

Please allow us a facile rollback to NIS2011 or distribute the fix.  Accumulated goodwill at risk of haemorragic exhaustion.
