Mike
I realise that the hotfx was released to fix the classic style problem in the right click menu, i was just suggesting that a new hotfix be made so anybody that does not like the icon could easily remove it.

The fix tool for the context menu issue has been posted. You can access this tool through the SymantecKnowledge Base:
Context menuoptions do not appear properly after you install the latest updates for yourNorton 2009 product

OK, so I've installed the update and under Vista Aero it works (even though the icon is ugly, and instead of making only one click to Scan with NIS, now I have to first hover over the NIS option, and then click Scan - which is annoying considering that NIS menu has only one option)
However, when I change to Vista's Classic or Standard Display Themes we now get this:
Left pic shows right click on a file, and the right one when you right click a folder. Please notice the position of the icons and the extra space in front of them when right clicking a folder. Or is it just me?

I can see why you would want to change how this currently works. Since the product is working the way it was designed, this would be considered a feature change/enhancement, and not a bug fix.
In general, feature changes and enhancements are added to the next product release, not to patches or inlines. There are several reasons for this. If you're interested in learning more about the development / QA process, please feel free to send me a private message, and I'll fill you in on the details.
I've created a ticket in our feature/bug tracking system for the next release of NIS based on your request. Your feedback is appreciated.
