Hello. I am on OS Windows 7 and IE 9. I have run live update and I am up to date. Also, my computer is completely up to date with all Windows updates. The Identity Safe feature is turned on. I have just backed up my current logins so those are safe. I really miss this feature. Can you please help?
Thank you!

Hi AtaraC,
Welcome to Norton Community,
Cau you try following options,
In IE9 -> Menu -> go to Tools-> Manage addons and check Norton Tool bar, Norton Vulnerability Protection,Norton Identity Protection addons or enabled or not? If not enable all the norton addons and check IE9 shows tool bar or not.
Or you can do it in another way to enable Norton toolbar. In IE9-> Menu->go to view and check Norton toolbar is enable with tickmark or not? If not enable norton toolbar and check the behavior
Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Senthil.

Um, any chance you accidentally opened IE9 64bit
IE9 64bit does not support the Norton Tool Bar (ID Safe)
IE9 32bit is preferred browser with Norton products.

Good catch bjm.
AtaraC,
If you have 64Bit OS,it will have both 32 bit and 64 bit IE verions and the default version is 32 bit IE. If you open IE from desktop or status bar, it will open 32 bit version by default. As of now, 64 bit IE is not supported by Norton. Please check if Norton Toolbar is working fine in 32 bit IE.
To check the version of IE, hit ALT+H+A If it's the 64bit version, this screen will display "64bit Edition
If you have problem with 32bit IE, then try the options which is mentioned in my previous post
Thanks,
Senthil

Did this. Norton is enabled.I have toggled the toolbar on and off several times, rebooted my machine. Even when I open the Norton client on my desktop and go to settings, it shows that Identity Safe is On.

I tried your suggestion, "To check the version of IE, hit ALT+H+A If it's the 64bit version, this screen will display "64bit Edition". the 64 Bit Editiion does not display so I am assuming that it it the 32-bit.

Hello AtaraC,
I'm sorry to hear of your problem.
Please open IE9 and go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab.
Under Browsing, scroll to Enable third-party browser extensions. Be sure it is checked. (Apply, OK)
Close and then reopen IE9.
Let us know if that helps.

The Third Party Browser Extensions is enabled. Thank you so much for your help. The Id Safe has not displayed since I updated my computer with the latest Windows updates. I also had some recent updates to my Sony Vaio including a BIOS update. Since then, even though the Identity Safe is enabled, it no longer appears on my toolbar. ![]()

Hi,
Try the following: Run live update until it tells you that all updates have been downloaded and installed. Reboot and run live update again. It should tell you that all updates have been downloaded and installed. If not please continue the cycle until the first run of live update after a reboot tells you that all updates have been downloaded and installed.
If this doesn't solve the problem pleasse post back and will go for a bigger hammer![]()

It's time for the bigger hammer. When I first noticed the issue I ran Live Update. I just ran it again several times and loaded the updates. I now get the message through Live Update that everything is up-to-date. What next?
